Your first mining job in three steps
No experience is needed for many entry roles, but sites will not let you on without the right tickets. This is the order most people do it in.
Step 1
Get the base tickets
Most sites expect a White Card or a site induction such as Queensland's Standard 11 before day one, plus a current first aid certificate for many roles.
Step 2
Pick a starter role
Trade assistants, utility workers, cleaners, camp staff and trainee operators are the usual ways in without mining experience.

Apply where the work is
WA and Queensland hold most mining jobs. Each state guide lists the regions, the big operators and where they advertise.
