Mining Career Readiness Quiz
Answer 8 quick questions to find out how ready you are
What's your current work background?
The Mining Career Readiness Quiz is a free, 8-question check of how ready you are for an entry-level Australian mining job. It scores you out of 24 and then suggests which certifications to get next. It takes about 2 minutes and needs no sign-up.
How the quiz works
You answer 8 multiple-choice questions, one for each area below. Each answer carries a small number of points, and the points add up to a total out of 24.
- Work background
- Certifications
- Physical fitness
- FIFO willingness
- Location
- Drug and alcohol test readiness
- Driver's licence
- Start date
Your total places you in one of four result levels.
- You're Mining Ready!: 15 to 24 points
- Almost There: 10 to 14 points
- Getting Started: 5 to 9 points
- Early Days: 0 to 4 points
Along with your level, the result lists the next steps that match your answers. These link to the certification pages for any tickets you are missing, such as White Card, Standard 11 or a heavy vehicle licence.
The quiz is a guide only. It is not a job offer, a guarantee of work or a substitute for an employer's own pre-employment checks. Your answers are used in your browser to work out the result.
