Avetta vs ISNetworld vs Rapid Global: Prequalification for Mining Suppliers

Last checked 8 October 2026 against the official sources listed at the end of this guide.

Avetta and ISNetworld are two contractor prequalification platforms that mining companies use to check a supplier's safety, insurance and training documents before engaging them. Rapid Global is another contractor management platform. Here is what each one is, how prequalification typically works, and what to have ready before the invitation arrives.

At a glance

Avetta, ISNetworld and Rapid Global are platforms where a hiring company checks a contractor’s documents before work starts. The company hiring you normally decides which one applies. Summary of what each says on its own site:

What each platform is

Both are online platforms where a company that hires contractors and suppliers (the “hiring client”) sets requirements, and the supplier uploads evidence once for the platform to review. Suppliers are usually asked to pay the platform themselves, so check who bears the cost before you register.

Avetta. Avetta describes its supplier offer as helping businesses get qualified, stay compliant and access more work, and its hiring client offer as giving full visibility across a contractor and supplier network (Avetta Australia). Its Australian history includes Pegasus, which Avetta announced in 2021 it had agreed to acquire (Business Wire).

ISNetworld. ISNetworld describes a three-step model: collect (suppliers submit health, safety, quality, insurance, training and other information once for multiple hiring clients), verify (its Review and Verification Services team reviews the documents against regulatory and hiring client requirements) and connect (hiring clients search the network of subscribers) (ISNetworld). ISNetworld also runs contractor user forums in Western Australia (Perth forum page).

How prequalification works

The detail differs by platform and by buyer, but the shape is the same. Treat this as a typical sequence, not a guarantee of what your buyer will ask.

  1. You receive an invitation from a hiring client, or you start sign-up yourself. Either way, the buyer’s requirements decide what you must provide.
  2. You register and are quoted a fee. Fees are set by the platform for your business (see below).
  3. You submit information: typically safety and management system documents, questionnaires, insurance certificates and training evidence. ISNetworld names insurance certificates, written programs and training documentation as examples of what its review team checks.
  4. The platform reviews it against the buyer’s criteria. If something is missing or does not meet the requirement, you correct and resubmit.
  5. The buyer sees your status and decides whether you can bid for, or be engaged on, its work. The decision stays with the buyer.
  6. You keep it current. Expired insurance, lapsed training or an updated document means the record needs refreshing. The cycle repeats.

The practical difference is rarely the platform itself. It is which requirements your particular buyer has loaded into it.

What it costs

Fees are quoted by the platform, so we do not publish figures here. What the platforms themselves say about how fees are set:

  • Avetta: pricing depends on the type of work you perform and your client’s specific requirements, and you receive a quote during registration (Avetta).
  • ISNetworld: an annual subscription plus a one-time account set-up fee per country, based on the number of employees (ISNetworld FAQs).

Ask whether your buyer will accept a platform you are already on, and whether any part of the cost is reimbursed. Do not assume either.

Which miners use which platform

There is no single official list, and requirements change. The one data point we found on an official source: Avetta’s Australian page displays customer logos that include Yancoal and Whitehaven Coal (checked 6 October 2026). We did not find an equivalent Australian mining customer list on ISNetworld’s pages. Do not infer a miner’s current requirements from this: ask the buyer directly.

In Queensland, the mine’s safety and health management system and the site senior executive’s review of contractor plans sit behind these checks under the Mining and Quarrying Safety and Health Act 1999, so what you submit to a platform may be only one part of what a mine needs from you.

What suppliers need ready

Most of the delay in prequalification is missing paperwork. Having these to hand makes the first submission faster. Our Supplier readiness checklist has the full list.

  • Certificates of currency for your insurances, with current dates and the policy limits your buyer asks for.
  • A written safety management system or equivalent: policies, procedures, risk assessment method, incident reporting. See SWMS and JSA for mining.
  • Management system certificates if you hold them, such as ISO 9001, 45001 or 14001.
  • Training and licence records for the people who will be on site.
  • Company details: ABN, structure, safety performance information the questionnaire requests, and subcontractor details if you use them.

What is Rapid Global?

Rapid Global is a contractor management software company. Its product page describes end-to-end contractor management with live dashboards to verify compliance, insurance, SWMS and inductees (Rapid Global). Most searches for “Rapid Global” are people looking for the login page. If you have been invited to Rapid by a hiring client, use the link in that invitation or the company’s own site.

What the product page says Rapid does:

  • Pre-qualification. Customisable pre-qualification by contractor type, with configurable requirements by work type and location.
  • Document verification. Review of licences, insurance and SWMS, with an AI-assisted document check it calls RapidCheck.
  • Monitoring. Live status dashboards for each contracting company, with automated reminders for expiring documents.
  • Site-related modules. Its product menu also lists induction (Induct), site access (Access), work permits (Permit), safety awareness (Aware), incident and audit modules, and it has a mining industry page.

Rapid’s product menu mentions a single pricing plan, but we found no fee amounts and no statement of who pays, so ask Rapid or your hiring client. The page says more than 1,000 companies use Rapid Global; that is the company’s own claim, which we have not verified.

Other platforms

Avetta, ISNetworld and Rapid Global are not the only systems. Pegasus is another name you will see in mining (Avetta announced in 2021 that it had agreed to acquire it). See the contractor management and prequalification directory for more.

Frequently asked questions

Which one do I need, Avetta or ISNetworld?

You usually do not get to choose. The company hiring you decides which platform it uses and invites you to join it. If you supply several miners, you may end up on more than one platform. Ask each buyer which platform and which program or tier applies to you before you pay anything.

How much do Avetta and ISNetworld cost suppliers?

Neither publishes a single price for Australian suppliers on the pages we checked, so fees are quoted by the platform. Avetta says pricing depends on the type of work you do and your client's requirements, and that you get a quote during registration. ISNetworld says suppliers pay an annual subscription plus a one-time account set-up fee, set by workforce size and the countries you operate in. Get the figure from the platform for your own situation.

Is a platform the same as a safety certification?

No. A prequalification platform checks your documents against a particular buyer's requirements. A management system certification such as ISO 45001 is a separate, independently audited credential. Some buyers ask for one as part of prequalification, but passing a platform review does not give you the other.

Does passing prequalification mean I can start work on site?

No. Prequalification is about whether the buyer will let you bid or be engaged. Site access normally also needs inductions, any role-specific tickets and the mine's own site requirements. For Queensland coal mines, see our Standard 11 induction guide.

What is Rapid Global?

Rapid Global is a contractor management software company. Its own product page describes end-to-end contractor management covering pre-qualification, document verification (licences, insurance and SWMS), and site-related modules such as induction, access and permit to work. Its page does not publish fees.

Are there other prequalification platforms?

Yes. Pegasus is another name you will see in mining: Avetta announced in 2021 that it had agreed to acquire it. Our directory lists more platforms and the contractor management category.
