  • Hunter Valley Operations is at Lemington, 24 km north-west of Singleton. It is a joint venture between Yancoal (51%) and Glencore (49%), independently managed, producing thermal and semi-soft metallurgical coal. It reports 1,550 employees and contractors. The Continuation Project extends life of mine from 2026 to 2045 at HVO North and from 2030 to 2042 at HVO South.

  • Mount Thorley Warkworth is an integrated operation of two adjacent open cut mines 15 km south-west of Singleton. Both mines have operated since 1981. It is operated by Coal & Allied (NSW) Pty Ltd, a wholly owned Yancoal subsidiary, for a joint venture. Yancoal holds 80% of Mount Thorley and the Warkworth interests are held by CNA, Nippon Steel and Mitsubishi Materials entities. Mining is approved until 15 February 2037.
