Is gas testing the same as a confined space course?
No, they are separate units. Confined space entry is RIIWHS202E and gas testing is MSMWHS217, though providers often sell them together. Check whether the confined space course you choose already includes gas testing before you book twice.
Is any funding available?
Some providers advertise it. Mine Training Australia shows a $63 CTF subsidised price for eligible construction workers, Saferight mentions CTF in WA, and Civil Safety mentions CSQ in QLD and CTF in WA. Eligibility rules apply, so check with the provider.
